The Riviera on Vaal Country Club is located on the banks of the Vaal River
in Gauteng and forms part of the Riviera on Vaal Resort. Once you arrive at this excellent parkland layout on relatively flat land, the club and surroundings offer tranquillity and seclusion from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The course at Riviera on Vaal Country Club is an 18-hole par 72 with a course rating of 71 for men and 71 for women.
Taking in the sweeping views of the Vaal River from the historic clubhouse at sunset, designed by the legendary Sir Herbert Baker, is an experience to remember. The course itself boasts bent grass greens with Cynodan/Kikuya fairways. There are many different and unusual holes where the added feature of water attractions come into play.
The course is also the proud holder of one of the most beautiful par three holes in South Africa. The 14th hole, which has two rivers in play, is known as the golf course’s signature hole, teeing off over a bend in the Klip River and if you over club the Vaal River will come into play. The course is a challenge for low handicap players without being too tough for the weekend golfer. With pictures of Bobby Locker playing a challenge match on this golf course, the Riviera on Vaal Country Club also proves to have a very rich golfing history.
